This feminine Navajo Native American necklace features a unique stone, Dry Creek Turquoise, set in a handcrafted, detailed, sterling silver setting. This elegant, signed necklace is an example of Southwest jewelry that makes the perfect gift for that special woman in your life.
Dry Creek Turquoise is pale, whitish-blue in color with very little caramel matrix. This pale color results when there is the lack of heavy metals during formation, which is a rare occurrence. The Dry Creek Mine in Lander County, Nevada, has been closed as the result of a family dispute after the death of the owner many years ago. Since the mined closed, Dry Creek Turquoise is scarce, highly sought after. No other mine has been found in the world for Dry Creek Turquoise, making it very valuable.
